Playing with Purpose

There’s a lot more happening when kids play sports than just learning how to pass a ball, make a shot, or improve a personal best. Sports give kids a place to practice perseverance, teamwork, confidence, and how to both lead and support others. They learn to celebrate a teammate’s success, keep going when something is difficult, and discover what they’re capable of. These lessons feel especially at home at Ranch Camp & Maccabi Sports Camp, where growing as an individual goes hand-in-hand with learning what it means to be part of a kehillah – a community.

This summer, we’re introducing sports specialty programs, available to all campers, by welcoming Maccabi Sports Camp into our community! Through competition, teamwork, and plenty of play, campers will have new ways to practice Jewish values like kavod (respect), kehillah (community), and ruach (spirit), all while developing their skills and doing something they love. Whether a camper is an experienced athlete or simply excited to try something new, sports at camp are more than what happens on the field or court. They’ll experience it when they cheer from the sidelines, celebrate one another, and bring energy to their team. Sports programs provide another avenue for campers to find belonging, strengthen friendships, and grow into the people and teammates they want to be.
