Every camp family has a story about why camp matters. Maybe it was watching your child gain confidence, make lifelong friends, discover a new passion, or find a place where they truly belonged. As a Ranch Camp and/or Maccabi Sports Camp Family Ambassador, you can help other families experience that same journey while earning tuition savings for your own family.
Our Family Ambassador Program is made up of enthusiastic parents who love our overnight camp programs and are excited to introduce new families to our community. Ambassadors serve as local representatives in their city, helping prospective families learn what makes Ranch Camp and Maccabi Sports Camp so special through conversations, community events, and personal connections.
What You'll Do
Family Ambassadors partner with our team during our recruitment season (primarily August through April to help welcome new families into our community.
As a Family Ambassador, you will:
- Attend at least one (1) JCC Ranch Camp recruitment event alongside a member of our team.
- Host one camp gathering in your local community during recruitment season – think of this like a camp-ified parlor meeting! Bring at least five (5) new families or eight (8) potential new campers (accounting for siblings) to this event.
- Your event can be as simple as a backyard gathering, pizza night, Havdalah celebration, coffee meetup, or family playdate. We’ll provide resources, guidance, and support to help make it successful.
- Send our team a list of attendees after your event and use our provided follow-up email template to thank families and encourage next steps. · Refer at least five (5) prospective families who are new to Ranch Camp and/or Maccabi Sports Camp – share their contact info with the our team. These can be families that have attended your camp gathering.
- Email or text these families after meeting them and include a member of the Ranch Camp team on these communications.
- Post at least once a month between September and March (a minimum of 6 posts) in local family Facebook groups or on your personal social media pages about Ranch Camp and Maccabi Sports programs.
- Write a testimonial that we can share on our website, social channels, and use in marketing materials.
- Allow photos/videos/other media of your camper(s) to be used in marketing and promotional materials.
- Connect interested families with our team for enrollment and follow-up.
- Write a newsletter-style story about camp’s impact on your family and your camper.
- And most importantly, share your family’s authentic camp experience and answer questions about camp life at events and in conversations about camp.

- Comprehensive 90-minute ambassador training (virtual or in person)
- Recruitment coaching from our team
- Marketing materials and camp resources

- Pizza/food/refreshments for your hosted event
- Email templates for following up with prospective families
- Exclusive Family Ambassador swag (you should wear this to events!)
- Our goal is to make it easy for you to simply share the camp experience you already love.

Family Ambassador Commitment
Complete your ambassador responsibilities and receive:
- 10% off one camper’s Ranch Camp or Maccabi Sports Camp tuition balance for the upcoming summer
- 15% off one camper’s Ranch Camp or Maccabi Sports Camp tuition per new family referred
- The referred family gets $400 off one camper’s full session tuition or $200 off one camper’s mini session tuition.

All ambassador responsibilities must be completed by May 1, 2027. Ambassadors may continue referring new campers until June 7, 2027. Tuition discounts are applied after ambassador commitments have been completed and verified and must be used for summer 2027. Discounts will not be applied to future summers.
Who Can Apply?
We’re looking for families who:
- Have at least one child entering 2nd through 6th grade.
- Have a camper who has previously attended at least one Ranch Camp or Maccabi Sports Camp session.
- Are enrolled for this upcoming summer (2027).
- Love sharing their camp experience with others.
- Are connected to local communities with camp-aged families.
- Are excited to help new families feel welcomed into the JCC Overnight Camps community.
No sales experience is necessary. Authentic enthusiasm and a willingness to build relationships are what matter most.
Selection Process
To ensure strong community representation while giving interested families an opportunity to participate, Family Ambassadors are selected through an application process.
Applications help us learn more about your family’s connections, availability, and ideas for introducing new families to Ranch Camp and Maccabi Sports Camp.
Because each community has different needs, we typically select one to two ambassador families per geographic area based on their ability to connect with prospective camp families and represent our overnight camps within their local community.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to plan everything myself?
Not at all. We provide planning resources, marketing materials, event ideas, follow-up templates, and ongoing support throughout the process. You’ll need to find the location, determine the date and time, and invite your people to come.
What kind of event should I host?
Events can be informal and fun. Popular ideas include pizza nights, Havdalah gatherings, backyard barbecues, coffee meetups, playground playdates, or family socials. The goal is simply to create a welcoming space for new families to learn about Ranch Camp
How much time does it take?
Most ambassadors spend just a handful of hours throughout the recruitment season attending one event, hosting one local gathering, and following up with interested families. We anticipate approximately 2 – 3 hours/month, not including recruitment events.
When do I receive my tuition discount?
Tuition discounts are applied after ambassador commitments have been completed and verified, typically in April or May.
